Thoroughbred aftercare is paramount to ensuring happy and healthy lives for our retired athletes
At MEG Racing, we believe that our responsibility to Thoroughbreds extends well beyond the racetrack. The journey of these remarkable athletes does not conclude with their final race; instead, it is our duty to ensure that their aftercare is prioritized and supported. We are committed to advocating for programs that provide safe havens, proper rehabilitation, and transition into new careers.
Through partnerships with established aftercare organizations and direct support initiatives, MEG Racing promotes responsible ownership and educates the public about the unique needs of retired racehorses. Our commitment to aftercare is not just an advocacy; it is a reflection of our core values—honoring the legacy of these magnificent horses while enriching the lives of those they touch.
Take The Lead Thoroughbred Retirement Program
You can help TAKE THE LEAD find new homes for Thoroughbred racehorses retiring from the New York Racing Association tracks. With your support, TAKE THE LEAD will locate secure placements and underwrite the horse’s aftercare at TAA-accredited rehabilitation and retraining facilities. Your donations will help provide retired racehorses with the care and training they need to go on to successful second careers.
Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance
The 501(c)(3) nonprofit Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance accredits, inspects, and awards grants to approved aftercare organizations to retrain, retire, and rehome Thoroughbreds using industry-wide funding.
